Get All Your Ducks in a Row 🦆 🦆 🦆

Get all your ducks in a row - Bigger Fish Personal Branding

So I'm writing this blog post to encourage and motivate my job seeking contacts and clients. I just read a "words of wisdom" post on Linkedin and one of the phrases caught my eye.

"If Plan A Didn't Work, The Alphabet Has 25 More Letters"

I love this phrase and I'm a firm believer that if you put the effort in, you will reap the rewards! But with digital marketing and job seeking, you have to have all your ducks in a row first, including:

  • A Well Designed & Written CV (ATS Format)

  • A Professional Cover Letter

  • A LinkedIn Profile that Screams Success

Without high-end documents and a killer profile, your applications will fall upon deaf ears and your job search will be in vain. The 3 items above, are high-end sales materials, you are the product and you're trying to sell yourself to the best possible organisation and land a highly renumerated job that fits perfectly with your skillset.

If you were selling a product, you would have your marketing team prepare a professional brochure that talks about the product USP, the key features and benefits of using the product and maybe some case studies and reviews! Thats exactly how you should approach your profile...

To stand the best possible chance of landing an interview, your profile will have to impress the reader, be well written, demonstrate who you are professionally, what value you deliver and for who...

There is no point jumping into job boards, career portals and emailing your CV to agencies if its not well polished and relevant to your desired role.

But, Hell yes! Once you have your high-end documents prepared and your LinkedIn profile ready for battle, go for it and keep going for it until you land interviews and receive your dream job offer!
