NLP & the Art of Influencing

Updated: Apr 20, 2022

If you're running your own business and managing your own sales funnels, you have to engage with your prospects to sell your products or services. I stumbled upon Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in 2019 after researching sales.

By learning & applying NLP you can enhance your business to effectively make sales, negotiate, persuade, make better presentations, motivate and share vision while overcoming objections and obstacles.

The world is made up of just 3 languages, and they’re not English, Spanish or Chinese! The word “language” refers to how there are 3 basic human ways in which all humans communicate. These three languages are: Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic. Your prospects will be usually leaning towards one of these languages and if you can identify and match this language you will start to build a real bond. Combine this with other methods and bingo, more sales!

Below is a simple example of how these languages occur in day to day life.

AUDIO: “OK, I’ll speak to you later!”

VISUAL: “OK, I’ll see you later!”

KINESTHETIC: “OK, I’ll catch you later!”

A couple of good books on NLP: Monsters & Magical Sticks - there is no such thing as hypnosis? and Frogs into Princes.

An NLP Practitioner can employ his/her skills as an agent of change working with individuals, groups, companies or even global organisations and governments. As a technology, NLP has an amazing track record for instigating fast and efficient change in individuals and groups.

Many people study NLP to help them become more effective in their chosen field. The patterns can be employed across a wide area of applications ranging from fields as diverse as education, team building, sales, marketing, personal development, leadership and coaching. Wherever there is human interaction and growth potential, NLP can be used to develop and enhance performance.

Check it out and let me know how you get on?
